I had lived with cats in college but my adult years had me living with dogs. On occasion I've even been asked to dog sit. I'm an avid dog lover to where when I'm walking I try to make eye contact with the dog I'm about to pass so it will come over and I can give it a good pet. None have touched my heart as these three darlings.
The first one is a handsome pitbull who taught me that I will give in to sad eyes. He had me tied around his paw so well that I held his cone so he would walk down the hallway - until the roommate came home and told me he was perfectly capable of doing it without any issues! Ha ha ha .... he was such a goofball with me.
The second one is the cutest muffin of a cockapoo you'll ever meet. I won't tell you her age because she's a lady and will never reveal it. Plus, you'd never be able to tell as she would come bounding down the yard when she spotted me. When I first met her I was drenched due to being caught in a down pour - she gave me a good sniff over then gave me her approval. It was an instant connection for me.
Lastly, and the best (because she will come and thwart me with her tail if I say otherwise) is my sweetheart. I met her when she was 4 and I moved away from her when she was 10. During the last 15 months of living together I accidentally kept her sick because I didn't know I shouldn't keep her on a chicken and rice diet for longer than 2 weeks (seriously, 2 weeks is the most because then they aren't getting the nutrition they need). When I found out I had been a bad caregiver I went out and bought her a stuffed bear since I couldn't get her a food treat. It took her a couple days to warm up to the stuffed bear but when she did it was adorable!
